Chimene Schwach Declares for House District 47

Community leader Chimene Schwach is declaring her candidacy for House District 47 in the August 2, 2022 election. With new districts being approved, Chimene Schwach now lives in the brand new House District 47 which includes much of Columbia’s 4th Ward. Schwach had previously declared for House District 46 represented by Martha Stevens. The new 46th District will now be located in the northern part of the City of Columbia. 

“I am honored by all the calls and support I have received asking me to run from residents in the new 47th House District,” Schwach said in a statement. “As a committed citizen and mother, I want to protect all of the values and freedoms that make the new 47th House District great. The families and businesses in this area deserve the wisdom and experience I can bring to this office. We are sick and tired of cookie-cutter, arch-conservative representatives who will compromise on our values in the name of political gain.”
